Where do you live?

Newcastle, Australia AKA the best city in the world!

What do you do?

I’m a volunteer manager for a children’s charity by day and a vegan lifestyle blogger by night/the days I’m not doing the other thing (work).

What does veganism mean to you?

Veganism means being able to live a bitchin’ life without hurting our animal friends in the process.

What is your most memorable dining/eating experience?

I’m going to cheat a little bit here and say the 5-week trip I took to the USA in 2013. It was my first trip to the USA as a vegan so I went HAM. I loved VeggieGrill in LA, Gracias Madre + Millennium in SF, Sizzle Pie + Voodoo Doughnut in PDX and Champs, Café Blossom + Wild Ginger in NYC. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

If you could invite 3 people (historical or current) to dinner who would they be?

Ricky Gervais, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jay Z.

What would you serve?

I’d invite them for my family’s Christmas dinner because it’s always the best. Tofu bake, nut roast, baked vegetables, plenty of salads and steamed greens. Last year I made pavlova for dessert so we’ll have that too.

Sweet or savoury?

No competition. Savoury. Always.

Where is your favourite food destination?

If you couldn’t tell from question 5, America! If we’re talking closer to home I do love a little Melbourne getaway for all of the best Australian eats.

I’m fun, full of variety, kinda bad for you and very cheesy.

What’s your speciality dish?

Despite the fact I don’t really eat a lot of sweets, I make a mean dessert. Probably my ice cream sandwiches, but I do make a mean French onion dip that’s always demanded by my friends at our gatherings.

What food best describes your personality?

Definitely pizza. I’m fun, full of variety, kinda bad for you and very cheesy.

What’s your favourite thing to eat on a hot summers day?

If you follow me on social media, you’ll know that summer is absolutely not my jam. To cool down I would probably go with a really good fruit salad full of all the good stuff like watermelon, berries, pineapple and mango. Or ice cream.

On a cold winters night?

Now we’re talkin! A veggie roast or schnitzel with baked vegetables and gravy is always awesome comfort food. Or anything with garlic bread because really, it’s amazing.

Avocado on toast with olive oil, fresh lemon, salt and pepper. It’s the breakfast of the gods.

You’ve been asked to contribute a recipe to an upcoming cookbook. What is it?

My French onion dip, maybe then people can bring their own to gatherings haha!

If you were a vegetable what would you be?

I’m going to go with potato because I’m very versatile.

Describe a normal day in the life of Chelsey.

When I’m not at work I love to fill my days with brunches, blogging, hanging with friends and my new rescue greyhound, Joey!


What’s your guilty pleasure?

I love to watch movies and TV shows over and over and over again. It’s terrible but I love it. I reckon I’ve watched The Office (UK) at least 30 times.

What did you have for breakfast?

Avocado on toast with olive oil, fresh lemon, salt and pepper. It’s the breakfast of the gods.

You’re on death row and it’s your last meal. What do you eat?

Oh stop, it’s my greatest fear that I’ll be locked up for a crime I didn’t commit! But I have thought about this and I’m going to keep it real. A Vegemite sanga, hot chips and ice cream for dessert.

 What are your plans for 2016?

Ooooh wouldn’t you like to know! Personally there’ll be some travel (yay) but on the blog front there’s some very cool stuff going on. You’ll just have to stay tuned!
